Beyond the Brush
When it comes to painting and mark-making, variety is key to keeping things fresh and interesting. That's why I'm always on the lookout for unconventional tools to incorporate into my creative process. Recently, I stumbled upon some interesting finds at the dollar store, and I couldn't wait to share them with you!
Among my discoveries were a shower squeegee, basting brushes, and even a little hank of yarn. While I haven't tried them all yet, I was pleasantly surprised by the results when I used the shower squeegee to spread paint and the basting brushes to create expressive, wonky lines. I'm especially eager to experiment with the yarn—I have a feeling it might make for an interesting paint-spreading tool, kind of like a little mop!
Have you ever tried any non-traditional painting tools? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any unique tools you've discovered.
